.30 Luger lookover request

I'm looking for a .30 Luger shooter.
What do you think of this one?

Look at the MAG! Could it be a real Navy?
Thanks, Bill

Gun looks ok. The mag is not Navy. The base looks like it is plastic. Navy mags with concentric circles did not have a blued body. These commercials are frequently in better shape than this one. Think I would look around. Bill

I would agree with Bill. This is a good shooter for the price, but .30 luger ammo is expensive. Look around for a 9mm.

From the photos, it is hard to tell just how much finish is left on this gun, and how much light surface rust there is--lighting is very bad. Price is twice too much, with patience you can do much better for the money. If you haven't already, check on ammunition price and availability before you make a firm .30 cal. decision.

For what I can see from the photo it seems ok, BUT:

a) take into consideration shooting 9 Para instead of 30 Luger
b) better be safe, perhaps would be better to have it checked by a serious armourer before you use it at the range.
c) have good fun and safe shooting!

Thanks all for your reviews and advice.

Ummm run dont walk. That thing is reblued or rusted or both. Its missing the takedown lever spring also. I would give 4 to 500 shipped for a .30 luger in that condition....if I wanted one.

Bill,
Ignore those nay-sayers that deride the 30 Luger:evilgrin:
It is a lot more fun to shoot than that common:rolleyes: 9mm!
If you are a handloader, then ammo cost is no problem:thumbup:
get this one and HAVE FUN:cheers:

I just posted to a poster about the .30 Luger. I said to him do not worry about ammunition. It is the original for the Borshardt model Luger. The 9mm came later.

30 Luger

I also like the 30 Luger. It's much more fun to shoot than the 9mm in a Luger to me. Of course, I'm a handloader, and I love a challenge like 32-20 and 30 Luger. The problem is finding the components- mainly brass! :) KW
