BYF 41 at gun show
So my BIL and I went to the gun show today and there were 4 Lugers. Two WW1, for $2000 and $2200, way overpriced.
Then I saw a 30 cal for $1200 which had a less than perfect finish. And we saw and bought this BYF 41 with all matching numbers. They were asking $900 and we got them down to $850 The finish looks good except it looks like some spots were cold blue touched up. Not covering corrosion, maybe just thin finish areas. But it looks like a very nice shooter with a great bore. My BIL is happy. What do you guys think? Crappy cell phone pics. No number on the mag but it does look period to me. https://scontent-a-sjc.xx.fbcdn.net/...20224652_n.jpg https://scontent-a-sjc.xx.fbcdn.net/...61512323_n.jpg |
Me thinks you done well.

Maybe it's the pictures but it doesn't look like its a matching pistol. The side plate and takedown lever look like they have different numbers.

I see what you mean and I hope it's just the picture. We have one other pic in my BIL phone and I just asked him to send it to me.
Not too big a deal since he wanted a shooter. Still I checked the gun over for him and saw all numbers so hope I didn't miss take down lever. We also didn't break it down so had to take their word for inside numbers. It's in 10 day waiting period now. |
If you enlarge the photo, it appears that all visible numbers are 01.

Pictures suck with cell phone. Here is another shot and you can see last two digits is 01 in all places.

Value estimate with crappy pictures?
My guess was $1200 if also matching on the inside due to the fact its a BYF 41? |
