Not many Borchardt C93 pistols were made. But its price is not because it's rare, obviously, many of them survived. I saw them in almost every auction session. After rounds and rounds of auction house sale sessions sweeping the market year after year, C93 can still keep its 5-digit price tag, that implies high demand. The price probably came from its earliest self-loader status, and its association with Luger. But seldom see this gun going $100K except a few very specific instances. Original one, $20K, $30K. Reblued is around 10K, or less.

Why does the guy use a cheap cell phone camera when he's trying to sell (what he thinks is) a $100k gun? The presentation is absolutely horrible, the only thing missing in the pictures is the owner's foot.

The three main causes of crappy pics--camera motion, out-of-focus, and bad lighting/color balance--can be easily achieved with cheap-o camera and expensive SLR alike! Nowadays, even a cheap cell phone has the capability of creating an image of adequate resolution/sharpness, so I think it's more a case of--as with auto accidents--"the loose 'nut' behind the steering wheel" that caused this photographic debacle.

Back some time ago, RIAC sold a Russian Miniart Borchardt miniature. All steel wonderful piece. Miniart is not as good as a few western miniature makers, but the price is lower, and they did not make many of those. That's the only instance that I have seen for public sale in recent years. I forgot how much it went, probably $2k-$3k.

I have a picnic table just like that in my back yard! :D

Seriously, it's surprising how many of us (here & on other forums) have the same picnic table...Same weathering, same green mold (or whatever it is), same 2 x 6 planks...

I guess it was a favorite 'do-it-yourself' project, maybe from Mechanix Illustrated or some such magazine...I just built mine a couple years ago specifically for my Doberman...He (several of my Dobes actually) loved to lay up there and survey the neighborhood...I have a pic somewhere; have to see if I can find it... ;)
