Sure this must have been refinished
I like this Erfurt, but I am sure it's refinished. The sharp edges looked buffed away.
http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=369957150 Maybe this could be my .30 Luger shooter? Navy mag? A repro no doubt. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=369611852 |
Jasta2, the Erfurt assuredly is a buff and reblue job, without the slightest doubt. The second luger is a common 1920 commercial which at the asking price is attractive but .30 luger is expensive ammunition and getting harder to get. If it was a 9mm it would be very attractive.

Buying a lot of .30 Luger brass. Getting back into reloading.
Tks, Bill |
I agree with Herb. There is no doubt that this Erfurt has been heavily buffed and refinished and that "Navy" magazine is an early Mec-Gar modern replacement.
|
Yes, indeed - heavy-handed refirbishment.
|
On Wikipedia next to refinished there should be a picture of that Luger. All the rounded edges make it more obvious than most.
|
I would be advertising it as "Deburred and Radiused for Combat Carry!!"
 |
Why rebuff? May sound obvious but it may have different meaning depending on the luger or owner! Are they always re-blued??``Eric
