Way OT-Insect Camouflage

Happened by this yesterday, nature sure has her way of doing things. Would've been better if it had been in it's natural surroundings rather than the hood of a car. But then again I probably would have never seen it. Still looking to find out it's official name.

It took aircraft designers about a century to come up with a design similar to this, when nature had it all laong.

That is a beautiful moth. Here is one from our back patio not quite so camouflaged but a big guy...about 8-inches from tip to tip of his wings. Nature is certainly entertaining.

My guess: snow veined antler moth.

... one of our local Tarantulas. In early October the males come a'courtin.....
