Any color case hardened Lugers?

I've just joined here, and really looking forward to participating.

I've seen a number of custom finishes on shooters and bring-backs, but never color case hardening.

It's an art to get right, I agree.
But it really looks nice when done well.

Thanks,

Garrett

Any color case hardened Lugers?...No, at least none that are original.

Hi Garrett and welcome to the forum. I agree, color case hardening makes a beautiful finish but would be out out of place on a Luger, however so are the Nickel and Chrome finishes, so why not color case hardening on a shooter Luger? I would like to see one. :burnout:

case color..

I've thought of case hardening luger frames, not for the look, but for the surface hardening ... it has worked well for all applications when done correctly... I think a great addition to any firearm... when done right... best to all, til..lat'r...GT

Thanks, and I should have qualified my question further.

This obviously wouldn't be for an original/collectible Luger.
Rather, a custom piece that's meant to be admired as well as shot.

I built a custom Mauser 98 in 400 Whelen (Improved) that I had color case hardened, and it looks great.
I did a Google search for examples of Lugers like this, but with zero results.

I don't have a picture hosting service, but glad to send some to anyone who could post it here.

Thanks!
