Are Our Friends In Colorado OK!

The news says that the worst is around Boulder! 14' inches,
Best Wishes!

I was a bit apprehensive as Boulder is where our son, his wife and our twin grandchildren live. Fortunately they are high and dry and ony have school and work closures to contend with.

We are away from home right now, but our neighbors are in dire straights. There are three roads down our mountain, two are totally gone, the best is shown in the photos. Emergency supplies are being delivered by helicopter. One of our neighbors has a key to our place and we have asked her to distribute all the food in our pantry and freezer. Apparently our house is OK.

Here are photos of the two roads that are impassable. The drop offs to the side are about 1,000'.

Lucky ones

We are very fortunate here in Chaffee County, CO- no problems. As seen in the posts above many of our neighbors to the North have been devastated.

These sort of things seem to happen even more frequently also here in Italy; I whish all the best to all my "Luger friends" and their families.

Visited Colorado years ago. It is a very dry place. Really surprised to hear this news of being hit by heavy raining.

A lot of footage on the news lastnight. So many homeless and still missing. Seems the rain swollen rivers and creeks come from all directions.

I drove to Denver from Montana years ago, lovely state and Buffalo Bill is high and dry where he's at today.

Fires vs floods! Whats next?

Norm;

Really sorry to hear about your area. We are high and dry in the northern part of Colorado Springs, in fact I have been surprised how little water damage there is in our area.

Big hats off to you for sharing your food. I have friends trapped up there and things have been a bit tight. Cell phones are fantastic--until the battery goes down in an are where there is no electricity.

Supposed to clear up by Thursday.

Gary
