WMP magazine

I'm new to the world of lugers, just got a 37 P08. Who made wmp magazines and are they worth having?

Edward Tinker 08-06-2013 11:10 AM

welcome to the forum

sorry, what is a wmp magazine?

DancingRaiders 08-06-2013 12:15 PM

A seller has a couple of luger magazines made by wmp. Never heard of them. Was curious as to the quality and performance of them.

Edward Tinker 08-06-2013 01:08 PM

never heard of them, you have a link?

personally, I think most aftermarket stink - mec-gar are some of the best, but will cost around $50 - cheaper and you get what you pay for

On eBay in German luger magazine

kubel 08-06-2013 10:50 PM

Hmmm.....I just did an Ebay search for "German Luger Magazine" and found a few for sale. However, I didn't see anything listed or described as "wmp"....

DancingRaiders 08-06-2013 11:22 PM

There were two listed by joespawn 1243. 2 New 8rd mags for German p08 luger is the listing

DancingRaiders 08-06-2013 11:35 PM

I contacted the seller as to the manufacturer. He told me wmp.

kubel 08-06-2013 11:36 PM

OK, this is one of the same ones I found in my earlier search. I still don't see "wmp" anywhere. Maybe I'm blind....?

OK, disregard my previous post. We must have posted at the same time.

DancingRaiders 08-06-2013 11:43 PM

My fault, should have gave complete info in the first place.

Most find that period magazines (particularly the Haenel Schmeisser made ones "FXO" marked) work better. These are welded and machined rather than folded steel.

I went through this same drill. Apparently they're made in Italy. *shrug*

I'm also interested to learn if there is a good quality new repro luger mag available, since both my MecGar & KKK mags are on back order. Hopefully, these are not the same poor repros that I had to return to CDNN, that were advertised as "original factory mags". Whose factory? Tom

rhuff 08-09-2013 04:40 PM

Tom,

CDNN listing of Factory OEM mags are Stoeger Luger Mags. I own 3 of them, and they function in my Lugers, but perhaps not in everyones Lugers. One mag was slightly oversize and needed "tuning". Their QC is a bit lacking, but they function for me.

tomaustin 08-09-2013 11:33 PM

fellows, what the hell is going on to have backorders on luger magazines??

are we that popular ??

kubel 08-10-2013 12:13 AM

Actually, probably low priority. With the massive sales of firearms since our wonderful president was elected (sarcasm), the manufacturers are probably trying to keep up with demand by focusing on high volume products. Same goes for ammo...the rare and odd calibers are being put on the back burner to keep up with the demand for common calibers.

DancingRaiders 08-10-2013 06:14 AM

There are several magazines for sale on eBay for various prices. The ones from joespawn are the wmp.
