This was picked up this morning at OGCA: all matching but the magazine which is a bit later s.n. S&S issue:

I hope you can get that white printing off the sides...maybe 50 grit sandpaper...

Anybody who does not like the white printing is free to use the sandpaper- I don't mind.

I have no idea why you would see a need to mark your pics as being from a private collection...But sure, why not??? :thumbup:

Your Luger looks good, although that fourth proof mark is somewhat unusual...Lightly struck, and uniformly shaped...I am the Devil's Advocate of the forum... :D

Thank you for your concern, but I am not worried about the fourth proof mark as long as there are two others on the lug.

I expect to see three acceptance and a final proof mark. Technically you have four but the small eagle is what? Since I think you know?

Actually, small eagle maybe a repair mark?

No solid proof, but I am sure it was probably a senior inspector, because you find it commonly, but not all the time, and they use the eagle RC for parts that did not pass first muster.

I will have to check on the marking.
