|
Clifton, Picked up? I bet you floated out of the building after laying down that much cash outa your wallet!
|
It's OK, Jerry, a Simson, once in while...
|
Looks like a nice one. What are the markings on the right?
What is an S&S issue? |
S&S undated
Here are the markings:
|
I hope you can get that white printing off the sides...maybe 50 grit sandpaper...
What's OGCA??? |
OGCA is Ohio Gun Collectors Association
Anybody who does not like the white printing is free to use the sandpaper- I don't mind. |
Wow

I have no idea why you would see a need to mark your pics as being from a private collection...But sure, why not??? Your Luger looks good, although that fourth proof mark is somewhat unusual...Lightly struck, and uniformly shaped...I am the Devil's Advocate of the forum... :D |
Thank you for your concern, but I am not worried about the fourth proof mark as long as there are two others on the lug.

BTW, very nice that it is unit marked
I have this one in my database; 8495 E6 E33 E6 E / Simson & Co Suhl / unit marking: Za.K.57. and these around yours |
Ed,
I did not think what the small eagle is about and also wonder what the unit marking stands for? Thank you Actually, small eagle maybe a repair mark? |
No solid proof, but I am sure it was probably a senior inspector, because you find it commonly, but not all the time, and they use the eagle RC for parts that did not pass first muster.
I will have to check on the marking. |
