Carbine Forearm
 
Hi Forum Users;


A couple of days ago there was a thread about a gunsmith's custom sort of carbine a man had inherited.

Johnny Peppers sent me a photo of a carbine forend to post.

I have never seen one of these. Is this the standard linkage? (EOM)

Yes. The darned thing is silver soldered to the frame! The forearm wedge goes through the slot in this frame extension.

Since the forearm hanger is silver soldered to the front of the frame the serial number for the frame is out on the forearm hanger, running parallel with the hanger. The barrel serial number also runs parallel with the barrel, out about two inches from the receiver.
