I just picked up a great new addition for my WW2 collection and had to share. Not sure how rare these are but I havent come across any others except online.

Prewar German double barreled flareguns are fairly rare and there is a collector's market for them

Neat! Now you just need some star shells and a cool holster..

ripcord810 06-26-2013 08:08 PM

I wasnt sure if there was a holster for these or not?

lugerholsterrepair 06-26-2013 08:14 PM

I am relatively sure there must have been..The Japanese had a double barreled flare gun and it had a holster. I have them here in my shop on several occasions.

Hard to carry one of these without one. I don't see a lanyard ring though..

I guess I will be searching for an orginal holster to fit it in the near future.

This is something that I get a hankering for too. Never had one for myself (sold a couple at gunshows for a friend).

Anyway, ;) nice score, good to branch out like that.

This is a flare pistol made by Krieghoff and accepted by Luftwaffe.
You can see the secret code for "Waffenfabrik Heinrich Krieghoff, Suhl" (fzs) and the Luftwaffe eagle proof in one of the pictures. In this context, you may find the attached picture interesting. Neat item, indeed! Congratulations!

Neat! Imagine modifying it to shoot 20 ga.!

ripcord810 06-28-2013 02:47 PM

The orginal owner said he once wanted to convert it to shoot 12ga shell. Thank goodness for me he didnt.

Imagine going to jail for a very long time...

ripcord810 06-28-2013 05:55 PM

Only thing I can find so far is these were carried in a bag most of the time.. still not sure if they made a holster for it....

Was the work of art used to get Snipes or perhaps OSS carrier pidgeons? Nice find and if one could find inserts from Kenesaw Canons, a true "show stopper".
