Luftwaffe Cz27 Rig with pictures
I have moved this from the 'Holster' section since I have since purchased the rest of the rig. Rig consist of the belt, holster and Cz27 with two magazines. I will detail each and then on to pictures. Recieved this from the grand daughter who is selling the house and items of her grandfather who was a WWII veteran who she says was part of the D-Day invasion and brought this rig back. With help from a fellow board member he helped ID the belt from unit markings as a Flak unit that was stationed at Normandy.
Belt & Buckel: Belt is stamped in two places on reverse of belt '5/sFlakLRgLII' Also marked: " L.B.A. Werner Linker 1938 Duisburg" Holster Marked: 'jhg 41' 'WaA 288' and inside of flap 'Mauser 7.65' CZ27: Standard markings with the proof 'WaA78' Well after repeated trys to attach pictures from Photobucked with no luck i'm stumped. Can someone educate me. I add photos on other forums but can't seem to figure this one out. |
On this same thread, on the reply window there should be advanced reply button. Once there go to the manage attachments button it will open up a window that has about 8 or so buttons that let you browse, to where the pictures are. If there are on your computer go to that folder and select the pictures. Once all the buttons are full in that window, hit upload. You should see them go from the browse buttons to just below them where they will be attached then. Then hit close window and go back to where you can write the text in the reply section. In the upper toolbar there is a paperclip, open it up and the pictures should be attached there. You can select all or one picture at a time. Then just hit submit reply.
This should get you somewhat in the right direction. Looking forward to seeing the nice collection you have there. |

DuWhat...........could you find out what unit the Normandy US vet served in?
Thanks. |
She's going to try to find out. Sad but I think she was more intrested in the money than her grandfather's proud service. We also looked for the capture papers as hopefully they survived. I told her I would give her an additional $100 if she found them. Also told her if no family wanted them I would be proud to be the custodian of his vetran papers if she finds them. Still working on getting the pics up per skeeter4206 instructions.

Very cool piece. At least it found its way to someone that respects were it came from and the history behind it. Glad to see you found all of it and kept it together. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

What does it say along the top of the slide?
|
The holster is not strictly matched to the pistol..It's likely for an HSC. Very nice holster.
|
nice rig, and correct - the holster is for a HSc...
|
Top of the slide says 'BOHMISCHE WAFFENINFABRIK A. G. IN PRAG (then the serial number)'
