Non Traditional Rear Sights On Luger Toogle

I have seen a Luger toggle with rear sight on it.I would like to know if it would be possible to custom mount one using a Novak style rear on a 4 inch barrel model with a larger front blade sight ? I had this in mind for a project or parts shooter pistol as one of my first ventures into semi custom target pistols.Any advice or help will be greatly appreciated .Thanks

Hi,
there are several forum threads related to your question , you can find by using the forum search and words like "custom sight" "target luger" etc

here are two recent examples
http://forum.lugerforum.com/showthre...t=custom+sight
http://forum.lugerforum.com/showthre...t=custom+sight ( 3 pages )

and this is maybe of interest - just for info ( Im not involved etc )

That last image from Simpsons Ltd. is a John Dewey custom Luger... His signature is on the left side of the barrel if you zoom in...He did some fine work back in the 1970's. I don't know if he is still alive though...

here is an interesting thread if you have not seen it yet
http://forum.lugerforum.com/showthre...der+rear+sight

the search for a gunsmith to make and solder the toggle base etc has been elusive - but perhaps someone could emulate the dewey base solution

Håkan Spuhr is making such toggles from scratch. You might ask him.

Michael,
that link shows "This content is currently unavailable" - I will try again later

do you know if these Spuhr examples are new made machined toggle with integrated sight base ?

or if these could be legally imported to usa ?

I think somewhere awhile back there was a Spuhr picture like that and it had what looked like a narrowed tang bomar type blade/insert inside slot integral to a newly machined complete toggle - ie not a case of soldered on base

thanks
Bill

Yes, this is a newly made toggle with an integrated sight base, and legally importable without a license, provided that the declared value is under $100. But I have no idea whether Håkan is making these parts for anything but his own amusement. Send him a message to find out.

I can't share Håkan's personal information without his permission. His business is listed here. My phone number can be found in my signature.

Not unless Håkan makes it available to the general public. Sorry.

Could someone please recommend a gunsmith who works on Lugers here in the USA who could do this kind of project. Thanks
