New owner of a 42 BYF
I know it doesn't even compare to some of yours, but I finally got a 1942 BYF Luger. All the parts DO match, I read lots of the threads to be sure the check the correct places. The mag is period correct I belive and is unmarked (I believe armor's spare).
Anyone have a mag that is close to matching? http://i42.tinypic.com/pulhl.jpg http://i40.tinypic.com/2im8ts.jpg http://i41.tinypic.com/1628klg.jpg |
I'll bet that one could tell some stories...
There is a black plastic bottom mag, E63 as I recall, that has no serial number, and is correct for that gun. An easy fix for your problem. Otherwise what you have is fine. Nice gun, and Welcome! dju |
Nice, veteran pistol. As David mentioned, there is not enough collector value in your gun to warrant additional expense for a period, correct mag. Your takedown lever spring seems to be missing. Not a huge deal, but I would replace it so your T/D lever does not drop out and get lost while disassembling for cleaning.

Looks like a great shooter

I may be wrong, but the magazine looks like it could be a FXO, E/37; which would be correct for a byf 42, unmarked.
