New owner of a 42 BYF

I know it doesn't even compare to some of yours, but I finally got a 1942 BYF Luger. All the parts DO match, I read lots of the threads to be sure the check the correct places. The mag is period correct I belive and is unmarked (I believe armor's spare).

Anyone have a mag that is close to matching?

I'll bet that one could tell some stories...
There is a black plastic bottom mag, E63 as I recall, that has no serial number, and is correct for that gun. An easy fix for your problem. Otherwise what you have is fine.
Nice gun, and Welcome!

Nice, veteran pistol. As David mentioned, there is not enough collector value in your gun to warrant additional expense for a period, correct mag. Your takedown lever spring seems to be missing. Not a huge deal, but I would replace it so your T/D lever does not drop out and get lost while disassembling for cleaning.

Looks like a great shooter

I may be wrong, but the magazine looks like it could be a FXO, E/37; which would be correct for a byf 42, unmarked.

You are correct, sir, about the magazine.
