1911 dwm
I have a 1911 DWM Luger in for restoration, e block production that has the following Weimar Front Grip Strap Marking. B.1.A.F.1.8. The numbers are about 2/3 the height of the Capital Letters. Need help with the meaning of the Unit Markings. Thanks.

Ted, it is Bayerische 1 Regiment, Artillerie zu Fuss, Batterie1, Waffe 8. I have two to that unit plus a holster. They are 1911 DWM s/n 3268e marked B.1.A.F.1.13. and DWM 1911 s/n 3690e marked B.1.A.F.I.1.H.9. What is you pistol's serial number?
It was one of three heavy artillery regiments in the Bavarian Army. The 1st was garrisoned in Munich. |
Thanks my friends for the info. I will check with my client on the Serial Number and make sure that is okay. Thanks again. Is FUSS an abreviation for another word? Trying to figure out what that and Bayerische means (is that Bavarian?)
