I got one book
I got one Luger book. The Luger Pistol By Fred A.Datig. Could someone tell me if this is a good starter book and what else would be helpful ? Thanks
|
Hi George, Fred Datig's book was an important and groundbreaking one in it's day, but it's day was about 50 years ago. I advise you to look through the book and see which area of Luger collecting interests you the most, WW1,WW2, Foreign contracts, etc, and then get back to us. We will be able to recommend the most up-to-date and specialized reference work that covers your particular field of interest.

Yes, the Datig book is one I enjoy very much. Look for Jones, same as Datig, not perfect but good pictures. Kenyon is a good one, then the best overall are jan stills books are great.
But do as said by Norme and figure out your "niche" that you like. Ed |
I think my niche is just with shooters/postwar/VOPOs and the occasional project pistol like a naval replica.Speaking of which could someone please give me a suggestion on where to get a barrel?
