What do these stamps mean?
 

I just picked up a project gun, and found some stamps on the trigger guard. What do these stamps mean? I'm planning a "shooter restoration", but I thought I better identify all the parts first.

It came with a "42" 9mm barrel and one .30 barrel without chamber stamp. I found these three stamps on the right side of the barrel extension, plus a 4th one that you can just barely see. There's also an "N" on the lug under the chamber. Is this some kind of rework, where the old stamps have been wiped out?

The muzzle end has a pretty bad dent, so I'm planning to change to a 9mm barrel later on. I just want to be sure that I'm not dealing with something highly collectible here.

Olle..The metal looks pitted, rusty..maybe re finished. There are cases where these Military acceptance markings are struck light but they might have been buffed at one time. Hard to tell from extreme closeup photo's. Back off just a bit and show a photo of the side..close but not as close!
The circle N on the lug is an unknown inspection mark.

It doesn't look like it has been buffed, it looks more like a rough factory finish or a rearsenal finish. Whatever it is, it doesn't have the appearance of a later refinish, there's none of the usual tell-tale signs, like rounded corners etc.

Olle..yes that is a much better photo..It's been re finished to some extent because there used to be a big ole date heavily stamped into the front of the chamber and it's gone.
Also the underside rails etc should all be in the white..no bluing. The Germans discovered blue caused spalling of blued friction surfaces so they didn't blue a lot of the inside. Your outside rail looks like it has been blued.

I'm planning to use this for a shooter project, so that's exactly what I wanted to hear! Just wanted to make sure that I don't mess with something that shouldn't be messed with.
