help with magazine
 

I have exhausted magazine stickys and posts from both sites.
I dont yet have 3rd reich lugers and I cant find this mag.
The closest one it came to was was a krieghoff but I havent seen a similar loading button and the base has no serials or proofs . It looks like it has some age to it. Any thoughts appreciated...

havent fired it yet but manual cocking trips hold open.

I agree with Ed Tinker... Definitely aftermarket, but good quality... wish I could remember who made them with that concentric circle follower button, but unfortunately, I can't. maybe LugerDoc can remember... he's a couple of years younger than me :eek:

Most likely post war Danish manufacture, most are marked "MADE IN DENMARK" on the bottom....best to all, til...lat'r...GT

I agree with G.T. I own a postwar aftermarket Luger mag made in Denmark, and it looks like the one pictured. It is a quality mag. Mine is stamped "made in Denmark" on the base.

That is a DDR magazine. You don´t see these too often.

I have never seen anything but extruded East German mags that were made on the machines left over. The follower button was shaped differently and I seriously doubt that my E.G cousins over there would have set up special tooling in the good old VEB times.

All I have seen, that are confirmed East German have 2/1001 stamped on it.

I have seen these for sale on eBay and eGun. DDR. Even tried to get a good pair, but price went too high.
Is it possible to see a picture of the bottom piece?

All of the DDR mags that I have seen are pinned through the base..

this one seems like a cast metel like an iron skillet or something rather then aluminum

Sheet metal, not extruded or cast...
 

The rectangular crimp shown in the red circle is how the two halves of the magazine (front and rear) are kept from separating at the folded seam down the side. This is a stamped sheet metal magazine... not extruded. The FXO type extruded magazines (and similar DDR post war mags that were made on the same machinery) are a single piece of steel, and do not have any type of crimp in this area.

As stated previously, this is a Danish manufactured post-war magazine. I used to own one... they are very high quality.

Excellent I am getting schooled on mags thanks to everyone. Some of the kreighoff mags have the rectangular crimp. So fxo mags are 2 pieces that have a " pittsburg" type lock then crimped at each end for extra reinforcement . How would they do an extruded piece? a round tube ran through a mechanical former or a mill process?

I know these are DDR, but don´t know how to prove it. So
I will just wait someone to agree with me. :) or not!
