Magazine clips from a Congresswoman

You have to see to this from a Congresswoman who wants to ban high cap mags, this is no BS her name is Diana DeGette and this is for REAL!

She is an elected official trying to get support as a "whip" in Congress to ban high cap mags, listen to her logic.

Her office is saying she "mis-spoke", you guys judge to see if she is just clueless.

Saw this on another forum the other day, yea what a moron but typical of a politician.

Following this logic, we'll have no more drunk drivers because they will use up all the gas they have in their tanks right now.
As Bugs Bunny said, What a Moroon.

Aren't you guys being a tad hypercritical?

I mean, do you actually reuse your waterglasses?

I fill mine up, drink, and throw them out. I'd buy more bullets if I wasn't spending so much on glassware.

Saw this on FOXNEWS.com yesterday but didn't have time to post about it so thanks for posting... These are the people that the majority of Americans have voted to lead this country! SHEESH!

Not sure I follow the analogy of the water glass comment. If I have a water “cup” I reuse as long as I’m still thirsty; a water “glass” I will wash and reuse again and again..
Using the a water glass analogy she is saying if we ban 12oz water glasses there will be fewer later but there won’t be any water to put in the glasses later because we’ll use it up.
No matter how you put it it still sounds asinine.

That's the really scary part. You never know what this woman (and her likes) will debate next time, but you can be sure that she will be just as clueless, and that media still will be happy to report whatever kind of stupidity she comes up with.

I watched the whole video to see if anybody commented on her "disposable magazine clips", but nobody bothered to do it. You'd think that one of her opponents would say something to politely correct her faux pas, but all you could hear was laughter from the audience (which was obviously way more educated).

By the way, here's the spokesperson's comment:

Quote:

DeGette’s spokeswoman Juliet Johnson issued a statement Wednesday, saying the congresswoman mispoke.

“The Congresswoman has been working on a high-capacity assault magazine ban for years, and has been deeply involved in the issue; she simply misspoke in referring to ‘magazines’ when she should have referred to ‘clips,’ which cannot be reused because they don’t have a feeding mechanism,” Johnson said. “Quite frankly, this is just another example of opponents of common-sense gun violence prevention trying to manipulate the facts to distract from the critical issue of keeping our children safe and keeping killing machines out of the hands of disturbed individuals. It’s more political gamesmanship that stands in the way of responsible solutions.”

So what she wants to ban is the evil 30-round en bloc clips, or is she talking about 30-round stripper clips? And will they be restricted somehow so you can't fill them up with cartridges again?

The spokesperson is obviously just as clueless as the congresswoman. :roflmao:

I was just about to post the "damage control" comment!

The problem is that anti-guners believe this! and she is part of the Congressional leadership trying to ban them.

mgvince 04-06-2013 10:02 AM

My take is that she was meaning to ban ammunition... When all the bullets are used up, there will be no more!

Sadly, sounds like some of the people who go to gun shows.
