My New American Eagle Mauser

Just happened to see this on a for sale board. It is an early one, Vlim told me

29/70, relatively early one, probably 1970. It has the initial frame with the longer frame ramps.

engraved, rather than rolled Mauser logo.
It was part of the first delivery to Interarms, shipped in the 24th crate on the 26th of February, 1971.
(page 309 of our book).
I like American Eagles and have an original 9mm AE, a 1970's Mauser 9mm and this one, although in the Swiss style, kind of :D I liked the 6 inch barrel and 30 luger is nice. It is just about like brand new, must have been a safe-queen.

Not my pictures, did something to my camera and its here somewhere

thanks for the pics

Ed,

That's a nice one, even better since it is early. Did you get the box and all of the accessories?
I have #649, got it about 25 years ago when the only info out there about them was in the gun mags or Francis Allan's book.

Edward Tinker 03-30-2013 10:16 AM

No, only got the gun and loading tool. Does it say in vlims and Mauros book that the ejectors were in the white?

Vlim 03-30-2013 10:21 AM

No it doesn't and they aren't :)

The ejector (side) on a Mauser Parabellum is straw colored.
The extractor (top) is always blued.

hey I did a winkie face :) that thing is sweet I would be too tempted to shoot it.

Ed, I like the tone of plum the receiver has taken on...

That is a nice score!! It would make a nice "friend" to my 06/73 6in bbl in 9mm. I like these pistols in 6in bbl. It looks to be near perfect. You did goooood.

Thats a beautiful piece, I have one just like it,only slightly earlier. Mine has the square(non-radiused) reciever. When I got mine, it came with 1 magazine and that was all.

I have fired mine 25 or 30 times with Fiocchi and some old Geco ammo and it functioned perfectly. I bought some Starline brass for mine, but haven't reloaded for it as yet. I also have a few molds for mine I am planning to make some bullets with.

These are really wonderful pistols and I wouldn't hesitate to shoot them if you so desire. I wanted an excellent condition Luger to shoot and I think this is the way to go. If you need to, get yourself some of the Mec-Gar magazines. These work great and are first-class manufacture............................

Thanks! I have a 9mm in four inch, it's NIB so have not shot it. This one I plan on shooting, have some older ammo and bought some fiochi.

I was not positive about magazines fitting right, good to know that mec gars fit.

We had a look in the production book and this Mauser Parabellum was moved from the production floor to storage on the 12th of February, 1971.

It was subsequently shipped to Interarms in the 24th crate on the 26th of February, 1971, as mentioned earlier.
