Holster loops mismatched?

I have a P08 holster dated 1937 (Freiberg) with WaA142 markings, The overall color is dark brown. One belt loop matches the case but the other is a lighter shade of brown. The stitching appears to be from the same time period. (Color, weave etc.). Can anyone with a lot more experience than myself shed some light on the possibility that this was NOT an uncommon condition?

Thanks,
Dave

Photos are a must to be able to help you. There could be any number of reasons for the different colors, but good photos would help.

As you can tell, I am somewhat new at this...hope the photos come through.

Your brown loop looks like a nicely done wartime field or depot repair. It adds to the character of your holster. If it really bothers you I suppose you could carefully dye it black.

I have actually seen this on some holsters / and had an advanced collector tell me that this was a very good possibility of being completely original on some holsters.

From the inside does the stitching look original or additional / new / old stitching.

Thanks for your input(s). Ed, the stitching on the inside matches that of the darker loop. I think I will just leave it as is. I will worry about making an "alteration" if and when it becomes an issue at sell time.

Ed...still hoping someone can answer my question about the lack of a proof mark on the Stoeger three line I am considering buying. Pics on the commercial forum.

I just realized that there appears to be a name (written long hand) on that brown loop! Can't make it out though.
