1917 DWM Artillery
 

I think I posted in the wrong area initially .I have been offered a non matching 1917 artillery model with shoulder board and one mag in trade for a Hk P 7 PSP with 3 mags plus $300.00 receiver does not match the rest of gun The shoulder board is likely a repro.what would be a representative value for the Luger, I have always wanted a Arty, but not to the point of bending. How much should I pay the PSP is in very good to excellent with the cash it is about a $1400.00/1500 trade. I am a little leery of parts guns and their value ,help would be most welcome

I think you would come out on the short end of that deal. To my mind, your Hk is worth more than the LP08.

I would agree. Not a fair trade.

I already responded over on the other thread, but once the value of the P7 is stated, the math says I agree with Norm and Doug. The three hundred bucks should be traveling the other direction in this trade!

An Artillery as you describe might bring $800-1000 and one must be sure it actually shoots. Parts Lugers might not function all that well.

Karl..Even though Ed may have seen this pistol..it doesn’t mean he looked at it close enough for a buying opinion. May have just given it a cursory look. I just don’t know. He can tell you though.
Especially if he was interested in an Am. Eagle at the time.
If these are the best photo's you can get either the seller is hiding something or he needs the money to buy a better camera. Either way I would not buy a pistol based on those photo's.

The P7s are getting harder and harder to find. A decent on can sell for as high as $1.200

I looked at this artillery - and I told the seller his price was a bit high, but the comments that the $300 should go the other way? What??? I have always been able to sell a mismatched arty for around $1000 (min) and usually $1100 to $1200 - an Odin repro stock is worth $100-$200 on ebay and that is included.

Personally, I have no desire to have newer guns so the deal would only interest me going the luger way.

well, in ref to the PM I was sent, but I can't imagine spending that much for a new gun...

The HK P7 is a desirable home defense or carry gun, because they are extremely accurate, well made and have a very flat profile. They require minimum training as there are no safeties to learn and they are considered much safer than a Glock. They are also all Garman made, as they have never had a US partner or factory here in the US produce them. The ones on the market are usually police trade-ins in excellent shape, although examples can be still obtained new as well.

They have a certain mystique and rarety, which has driven the price up. The only downside I have found to them is that they do get uncomfortably hot in the hand when firing repeated shots.

An ultimate fair trade would be up to the individuals participating, but as a purely business like proposition, I think an even trade would be fair to both. You could certainly convert the P7 into cash much more quickly than the Luger.
