So, besides being cleaned up heavily, anyone think they can guess what the toggle used to be marked?

thats what it looks like to me, rest of the toggle is sure cleaned...

Not that I'm doubting the originality....just wondering why the Germans would've scrubbed the markings off in WWII.

Ed that toggle has been coarsely GROUND... it is amazing that there is any residue of what was stamped there...
