GT's mounts.............
Today I recieved my second mount from GT and this allows me to display my two Machine Gun unit marked lugers. I'm now searching for the right WWI pickelhaube to display between them.
Love these mounts............... http://i49.tinypic.com/2n7lbgn.jpg |
That is by far the nicest stand for a Luger I've seen yet. Really nice!
Thank you for posting the photo. Mark |
I like how the lugers look balance on a piece of aluminum and the luger is actually locked on the display by a funtional magazine.
Great workmanship. He's working now on a pararel mount for a police unit marked luger. |
That fella G.T. does do some very nice work, and is a nice guy to boot.

Really nice display of a great pair of handguns.
I'm seeing a FW190 just below the pistols. That Stormbird lokks lonely there, so what are you planning to couple with it? |

Show me the unit marks and I'll show you what you need for Pickelhauben.

M.G.TR.9.K. I've only found a MG unit described shako but it's a little out of my budget. Found many PH that fit my budget but not my condition. |
Unless I am mistaken both your unit marks indicate units formed in 1916 or later. A good helmet to add would be a model 1916 Stahlhelm. But if you want something dressier a common model 1915 Pickelhaube with a Prussian infantry plate would do.

Prussian PH seems to be the model more available to acquire and affordable. Thanks for the info..........learning more everyday. |
Pickelhaube, mannshaft unit issued, Saxon w/unit markings "139.R.94.2.C.11" and "M1896".
Luger on the right, 1915 DWM police rework w/ unit markings. "1.M.G.21.A Luger on the left, 1916 DWM w/unit markings "M.G.TR.9.K. http://i45.tinypic.com/2mwwmip.jpg http://i45.tinypic.com/34smf82.jpg http://i46.tinypic.com/dxydyg.jpg |
Nice photo's and a very handsome display!

You're really fast.
This pickelhaube is really nice. I always loved the eight pointed star used by Saxon - so different from the plaques wore in Prusian and Bavarian 'hauben! Congratulations for a great display. |
The soldier's name is inside also but I can't read it.....Bummer
I have also found a beer stein of the 139 Rgt and here is a link to it's History. http://patiorlander.toile-libre.org/R%20139%20Saxe.htm Quote:
