Hello, new member with 1st Luger
Hi everyone, I am a WWII buff and of course a gun enthusiast. I had bought an AR-15 for $500 and just today traded the AR for a numbers matching, 42 code (Mauser), 1940 P-08.
http://i798.photobucket.com/albums/y...ps6925a8da.jpg Unfortunately I live in New Jersey so I must wait for a pistol permit to bring it home, but it is mine. When it's home I'll take it apart and take more pictures, anything in particular I should look for? Eventually I want a WW1 Luger as well, then I will be happy. |
Mike, welcome to the forum
You will want to ensure it is all matching, to include the small parts on the inside. It appears to have a pre-WW2 wooden based magazine (should have an aluminum base) |
thank you for the welcome. The magazine base is black plastic, unmarked if I remember correctly.

Time to move to Florida, I did!! Eric

Welcome to the forum.
IMO I would have put the AR up for sale at $2500 first before trading. |
Hi Mike,
Congratulations on your new Luger and welcome to the forum. These Mauser made Lugers are particularly well made and wonderful examples of precision manufacture. Marc |
I had actually posted it on Armslist for $1400 with no takers... trading for a Luger is plenty enough for me :)
