Mismatched sideplate and trigger
I recently acquired a police Alpha DWM P08, serial no. 3427q, police mark S.D. IV. 1207. On initial inspection I saw the only mismatched number was on the sideplate, a "30" instead of a "27". However, once I stripped it I saw the trigger also had a "30" on it, as well. Anyone seen a similar situation; i.e., matching sideplate and trigger but neither matching to the rest of the gun? Was this a fitting thing done when sear safeties were installed or?????

Bruce, welcome
not sure what an 'alpha' DWM is.... It is mismatched, no way to say when, but if it had been refurbed by the police, it would have left matching. Ed |
Sorry for the confusion re "alpha DWM P08", but I was referencing the descriptive term used on pp36 of "History Writ in Steel" by Donald Maus to describe pistols manufactured from 1921 through 1928 with serial number suffixes "i" through "r". I apologize if I used this term incorrectly or totally out of context.

ok, gotcha, alphabet DWM is the correct term, I just did not catch the abbreviation.
Could we see a picture of the suffix? Many of the letters are hard to judge.... |
