As I learn more about my Luger, it brings other questions up. Below are some pics with the questions below.

Just left of the 717 is an unknown symbol. It looks like 88 or a clover. Sorry these are the best pics I can get.

Last two of the serial number under the toggle link, but when I flip it over I see an 8 on the other part.

I've looked under the technical tab on the left side of the forum and didn't see that "88" symbol.

The inspector's mark forward of the "717" on the bottom of your receiver, is actually the astrological symbol for Taurus, but commonly mistakenly called a "flaming bomb". THis was a commonly used inspectors mark, during this period. TH

The photo is a little fuzzy, but I believe the mark is the "four-circle lozenge" inspection mark, which is reported to be common on old model pistols. Figure 754 in Vol. II of Pistole Parabellum shows this internal inspector's mark in the same location on a Dutch Trials pistol, SN 22468 which is pretty close to your pistol. -SRD
