Luger Holster ?

Hi to everyone,

I recently acquire this holster which came with a P08 DWM 1916 pistol. I was wondering if there anything special about this American made holster or is it just one of many models made for Lugers veterans brought back. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Regards, juno-44

Michel..A cool holster! One I have not seen before. Nicely made and a one of a kind for sure. It looks to be modified from another holster/pistol type..

Same principle as a chastity belt...neither one makes much sense (and darned inconvenient to boot).

Nice holster. Lock almost looks like one from an old suitcase. Very nice. Bill

Bill,
I hadn't thought about a suitcase lock but that sounds reasonable. The only similar thing I could think of is the lock on those old diaries that your girlfriend didn't want you to look at.:)
It is a neat and quite well made holster. I would love to know its origin.

That or an old leather briefcase lock.

May be Sweden?

The latch/lock says USA on it . At least I ,think it does. Bill

Ron,

They're supposed to be inconvenient!:crying:

p.s. I'll make another to order. $2.500

Hi,

The lock on the holster is maker mark 'Pat. Pend. USA Excelsior Stamford Conn.' According to the member lugerholsterrepair, a dry rot treatment was applied to the stitching turning it to a reddish color, a practice very popular with the German.
