Nice find,

This is the RG34a, used for subcalibre devices, like the Erma .22lr conversion kits.
They are rare!

The chain is definitely for a .22 barrel. The brushes are regular 7,92mm brushes and the tool would not be included in a sub-caliber kit.

I see these on every gun show I go up here. They are usually associated with surplus Mauser rifles.

Does anyone know where to get one RG34a for the .22?

How do you know it is called a "Rg34a"? I have never heard the .22 kit called that.

The chains aren't too hard to find but the correct brushes are impossible.

Which manual are you referring to because I do not find that designation (Rg34a) in this one.

Vlim 01-20-2013 11:54 AM

Peter, you are correct. Both manuals I found references in just refer to it as the RG34 for the 5,56mm barrel inserts. I have known the phrase RG34a as long as I know the sets, perhaps it just stuck ;)
