Here are a few markings

Ok, I see a serial number with an 'i' suffix, so either made right after WW1 new or made from a WW1 luger.
Can you show us the top - does it have a date? Do you know the caliber? a 9mm will drop a normal pencil straight into it, while a 30 luger would be tight/// |

no date on the top of the receiver?
is there a matching serial number on the underside of the barrel? I assume the word germany is on the left or right of the luger? Is there a crown N on the left or are there acceptance / proofs on the right And in answer to the questions above, Germany would show that it was a export to the USA - likely in the 1920's Crown N would be on a made for sale gun in the 1920's, while proofs on the right would be showing that it is a rework / which is ok for this era The longer barrel could be ordered in almost any size during the 1920's - 1930's (early 1930's) |
No dates, there is a crown over an M I will post a pic of it tommorrow. There are matching serial numbers on barrels and all parts!

Germany is on the bottom of clip

Can we see a photo of the rearmost section of the slide, (toggle)? I don't see a back sight in your profile photo. What does that area look like?

Navy Barrel?

I believe that the barrel is from a Navy Luger. The front sight base appears to be much higher than the standard sight base, and the sight blade itself appears to have been reshaped to be lower to make the gun shoot to point of aim.
How well does the gun shoot? |
