Full Auto Lugers

Has anybody seen the section on Full Auto Luger Prototypes in the Geoff Sturgess 3 volume reissue?

I learned recently that the Luger featured is one belonging to a friend of mine.

Page 1667 covers the Navarro patent, including patent documents.

Page 1668 covers the Senn patent.

Page 1669 covers the Gurtys patent. There is a photo of this design's prototype pistol on page 1670. A lP.08 Luger with s/n 6474a.

The Schoen patent is discussed on page 1671, including photos of parts. P1672 shows a closeup of the pistol right side with full auto sear installed, and details of the sear parts. The Luger is an lP.08 also, with number "8" on the side and "9" on the side plate.

My Friend believes he owns the Gurtys patent pistol, (he is not a Luger guy, but a major firearms importer). I handled this gun some years ago but do not recollect the mechanism used, (I do remember that it had an external F/A sear bar). He also told me he once had another one-off F/A Luger, where the selector was a plunger you pushed in and then twisted to effect the change in firing mode. He sold this one years ago but still owns the Gurtys gun.

I just emailed him and asked to see if he has photos to share.

The Navarro patent is US Patent number 1 113 239 of 20 February 1914.

The Senn patent is DRP 310 499 of 31 October 1916, original Swiss application 30 December, 1915.

The Gurtys patent is DRP 492 163 of 16 October 1926. This patent model shows an external lever on the trigger plate.

Each patent listed has the link to the PDF file at Espacenet in Europe.
