Stabbing attack...
My Daughter Lauren and her soon to be husband Jordan, live next door to two Brothers in their 20's living with their Mother in an apartment. One of the Brothers is bi-polar, all of them, including the Mother are dopers and boozers. She said they are always yelling and fighting.
Last Saturday evening someone started beating on their door yelling for help. Jordan looked out and saw the crazy Brother stabbing the other with a knife. He grabbed his hunting rifle, ran out and told the guy to drop the knife or he would shoot him, then ordered him back into the apartment. In the meantime my Daughter called 911, the police arrived within a very few minutes and had to forcefully arrest the attacker at gunpoint after he refused to surrender. The Police told Jordan that he did a great job, possibly saving two lives. The Nut was going to kill his Mother too. My Daughter called Sunday morning and said that a TV News van just pulled up and they're interviewing Jordan about it. The interview was shown on the local news Sunday Night. They made no mention of his part in intervening in the attack. They simply said he was "disturbed" by the incident, and because there were blood splatters on his car. Heaven forbid that we should encourage anyone to act in the defense of someone being attacked. I am very proud to know he will be my Son in Law in a few short months. The Son I have always wanted... |
In retrospect, it is probably better that the interview was not broadcast.
Don't think for a minute that the cretins next door are above suing Jordan for threatening them or some other bogus charge. Until the police officially declare that they are not charging you with anything and your Lawyer confirms it, DO NOT SPEAK TO THE PRESS!! |
I suppose it's possible, but historically our Court System has never permitted such retaliatory lawsuits to take place. They have been attempted several times, and have always been denied.

Ron, I'm glad that Lauren and Jordan are safe.
If the landlord doesn't terminate the lease on these neighbors, it would be wise for your loved ones to move as soon as possible. Rule number one for me is to stay away from the bad places, and it looks like this apartment complex may be becoming just that. His response to the attack sounds responsible and necessary. The press is often one sided on crime issues. Looking toward the part they can exploit for sales of their papers and newscasts, and ignoring much of the truth and reality of incidents. Defensive use of firearms is much greater than you would think from just reading the press. Marc |

Couldn't agree more your daughter got a good one. You all have reason to be proud of him. Bill |
Marc,
They already have several tenants pressuring the Complex Management to evict them, and to ramp up their back ground checks for undesirable tenants. It's a nice complex with very few problems. They want to move but are tied into a 1 yr. lease. If they break the lease prior to renewal, they have to pay a large penalty. Jordan told me today that all the news crew was interested in was the "gore" factor. They didn't want to hear any other details, and interrupted him when he tried to give them the details leading up to the incident. He said that the perpetrator had come to their door an hour or so earlier, drunk and or high on something, and invited he and my daughter to come over and "party" with them. Jordan said they "politely declined". Ron |
Outstanding young man , doing the right thing.

Bill and Dan,
I have always thought Jordy was a great guy. And very happy that my Daughter had found such a fine young man. I never realized just what a fine young man he truly is, until now. I am very Proud to call him my Son... Thanks. Ron |
Ron,
You can sleep quietly every night knowing that your daughter found someonelike Jordy to spend her life and build a family. The guy is a nice one. But I share Marc's viwe concerning a new place to live. Just something to think about it. All the best, Douglas. |
