Forced matched

Although I think i know the meaning, exactly what does the term "forced matched" convey.

items are matched by restamping, by taking old number off and stamping the frame number - or simply stamping over the number

some folks say, by finding the same numbered part -- I don't go that far but it is a form of not being original...
