Single/Two digit 1900's Known
Are there any single digit or Two digit serial # 1900 Swiss Lugers known? If so could anyone provide the #'s known?
|
Dave I know that Sturgess' book shows some very early ones; I think that Bobba's book shows some early ones.

There are two single digit 1898 prototypes, #5 and #6. that still exist. There are a number of two digit 1899 pre-production examples that Stiurgess has listed. The very first Swiss military piece, serial number 01, was formerly in the Visser collection and now is owned by Dr. Sturgess.

sn 14 and sn 58 have been reporrted to the Commercial database. Note that these are Swiss commercial pistols, not military; commercial and military Swiss Parabellum serial number sequences are separate from each other.

Thanks guys for the info. Ron, is the serial #1 relieved or un-relieved? Thanks David Jones

Dave,
I'm sorry but I don't know. It was manufactured as un-relieved but I do not know if it was subsequently modified. I am relatively certain it is in its original configuration but I can't say 100% for sure. I'll see if I can find out. |
