Can you please tell me what you think of this holster numbered to the pistol but there is no suffix?
Is this normal?

You have a nice World War 2 holster. The photo has to show the markings much more closely to give you any additional help. Photos of more angles, including the inside will help.
The numbers could have been stamped into the holster by virtually anybody with a stamp set. This could have happened at any time. Few organizations, the Weimar Police among them, stamped holsters to match guns.
Is your matching pistol a Police issued gun?

I have never seen a 'suffix' on a holster - weapons numbers yes, serial numbers yes, but never a suffix

Kai
Your story reminds me of a tale about wartime P38's that where sold here in the USA years ago by a importer called Interarms(RIP).
They where advertised as "Rare German SWV marked P38's found in abandoned U-boat bunkers for sale"
I bought one,of course.
It turned out, what they where selling was post WW2 made P38's. These where pistols made right after the war ended, by the French occupation forces in the old Mauser factory. Most where fitted with grayish colored steel grips. Don't know why the French would hide newly made P38's in German U-boat pens??? Fun story.
Still have mine,in its original "Grey Ghost" marked box. Mine was in mint condition and shoots great.
