Toggle pin anyone??
Apparently after the last range trip, my Luger's toggle pin has fallen out and is MIA. Does anyone know of a source for a replacement, and can I get one and have the same numbers stamped on it that the old one wore??
|
Ton Heller, (Lugerdoc) most certainly will have an extra, but I doubt anybody on this site will renumber one for you, as this is frowned upon here.
BTW, how did you manage to lose a toggle pin at the Range. The only way for a toggle pin to become lost would be to dismantle the gun. Something not always done on the range. |
I really have no idea how...it was there when I shot it at the range, and then when I was disassembling to clean when I returned home, the pin was missing. Can the retaining pin that goes in from the top of the toggle have broken, allowing the toggle pin to fall out??
|
If you are talking about the center pin and not the pin at the rear, this pin is not numbered, so a replacement should be easy. It is hard for me to imagine how it would have simply fallen out, but it is an easy replacement.

If it's the pin in the middle of the toggle (that fits within the knurled knobs) it's not numbered.
If it's the one that holds the toggle train into the receiver ears (at the rear) some are numbered, some are not, depending on the era, mfg and model. Marc |
Ok, thank you gentlemen for your knowledge. It is the pin that the toggle rotates around, and on exploded views it is labeled as 'toggle pin'. Again, I haven't a clue how it became detached, but there is a small pin that is inserted down from the top of the left side of the toggle which retains the 'toggle pin', and THAT pin is missing also so I guess that it broke somehow and allowed the 'toggle pin' to fall out. Except for the magazine, this is an all number matching Luger so i was assuming (yes, yes I know...) that this part was numbered also. It relieves me that it is not.

MR et all, I wish that we would all refer to these as toggle AXELS (front, mid & rear) and the mid axel retaining pin, in order to avoid confusion. I do have all of the above in stock. TH

My apologies. It is 'toggle axle' from this day forward..
