where has .30 luger ammo gone?
Seems everyone is out-of-stock.
Is there any on-line retailer who still has any for less than $50? |
Can't say now, I bought a small stash of it last year, from Midway and some others. The US made stuff is out of production, so that helps explain the $50+ per box of what is basically new old stock. Fiocchi offers FMF and JSP. The latter arrived, but I had ordered the former. I called the place to complain/exchange it for FMJ. The owner insisted that semi-jacketed soft points would work, that I try them out--and darned if he wasn't correct after all. They cycled fine, and there's no lead fouling involved, due to the shortie jacket. But I've also observed that the Fiocchi is unlikely to be in stock lately.
AmmoSeek is a good site for tracking down ammo you seek! http://ammoseek.com/?from=resultspag....submit=Search even better here: http://palmettostatearmory.com/index...-93gr-fmj.html |
I am guessing that Fiocchi 30 Luger ammo only comes in once, maybe twice, per year. This is not a huge seller over here, so they send it only occasionally. I am waiting for the people that I purchase 30 Luger ammo from to contact me when their next shipment arrives. These folks are close to me(state wise) so the shipping is "reasonable". They also price it acceptable.....but are on backorder, and have been for 2-3 months.
Ammo-seek, as noted above, is sometimes helpful. Also just Google Fiocchi 30 Luger Ammo for sale, and it will tell you the folks selling it. My last query showed a few sellers with it in stock. I will NOT pay $50/box of Winchester ammo....no way!! |
great, thanks, Palmetto has FMJ in stock for $23, much better.

Yep they do...I live 4 miles from Palmetto State Armory.....good guys....they currently have about 15 Russian capture P-38s in stock also!

You guys probably already know about this site, but I thought I'd throw this up - I've found some great bulk deals linked through this site (9mm, 45, and 7.62x39) - I like how they have the best user submitted deals in a simple spreadsheet style, with cost per round factored. The .30 Luger section is slim pickings but they are pretty quick to list new deals, I usually check it out a couple times a week.
