Re: magazine markings

The "KK/4" is a Portugese inspector's mark and the 6006 is the serial number of the BYF/42 PO8 that this FXO mag was installed. Tom h

Re: magazine markings

Does that symbol above the kk4 marking mean anything? Also how old would you say the magazine is? The only other marking on it is 9149 on the side with a line through it. And it has a wood bottom.

Also, does Mauser still make Luger magazines? I have one that looks almost new and the only marking on it is the Mauser logo.

Thanks

I can't comment on the heart shaped mark but...

-OR- I have also heard that they purchased the magazines from Triple-K and put their logo on them. They don't make them anymore to the best of my knowledge. Tom Heller bought the balance of their parts when they stopped making them...

The photo is linked from Adamsguns.com website where this excellent example of a complete Portugese Luger Rig is for sale at the current posted price of $1295.00 These Lugers are relatively unique because they are parkerized instead of blued...

Re: magazine markings

Why would a magazine shipped with the byf42's have a wooden bottom unless it was replaced?

Re: magazine markings

Tracy & PH, The Portugese did manufacture some wood bottom blue folded tube mags of their own, as replacement for the lugers that they had purchased beginning in 1900. I just AS U ME D they this was an FXO mag, as they are usually the ones with the serial number etched on the spine. The "heart" shape around the "KK/4" is actually a misstamped circle and has no significance. Tom h
