stock lug
 

i don't mean to sound stupid, but i keep hearing about a stock lug but i never see it marked on diagrams? what is it and where is it?

Tom, the stock lug is the grooved metal boss at the lower back of the Luger grip. This provided a place for attaching a shoulder stock, but the staocks were only supplied with the longer barreled Navy and Artillerly pistols. The lug also served to hold the frame for machining operations during manufacture.

If you go to the Luger Forum Centerfolds section, you will see one luger with a stck attached (Oct. 2001) and one luger with a stock lug shown (Jan. 2002).


The challenge is to learn is when a model, a manufacturer, a year produced should or shoud not have a stock lug.


Lots of good books out there to study...

I will post a photo or two of a stock lug when I get to work this AM (EOM)

Can you explain, in laymen terms, how to post more than one photo at a time on a message board thread ?


A few days ago, you posted some instructions about "reading your source code"...which is "greek" to me...


Remember, I read those PC's for Dummies" books...

Pete at the first message board screen, there is a place to post photos. What I do is open two browsers.


Go to browser #1 and upload the photos, one at a time.


Open the 2nd browser and go to Post New Message.


Back to browser #1, upload the photo, then copy the url, that is the web address it will give you for the photo you have uploaded for this part you can include the ENTIRE address, if you are uploading a picture on the optional link url, then you must drop the http:// because two of those makes no sense to the PC trying to find that picture.


Then go to the 2nd browser screen and paste the complete url into the browser window. This will give us the area to look at your photo.


Here is an example

Do this as many times as you want.


Where you see the blinking cursor, then hit the up arrow key and go to the beginning of the first url you pasted.


Then hit the enter key a couple of times. That will give you space to write your message.


Something like, mustang, here are the pictures of my fathers Luger, he picked up off of a Dead German General, Field Marshal DWM


hopefully that makes sense to you, if not, John, Dok or one of us can help with more directions.

That was a good explanation John.


I used a help page from E-Bay when I was first learning, but have never gotten into html. There help page is pretty good and explains much as you did.
