1900 luger firing pin
 

Any one know of a shop or person on this forum who I could send my firing pin in to to have the tip repaired befor I send the gun in to thor to have it restored thanks.;)

Why not let him repair the firing pin, also?

Have you contacted Tom Heller, (Luger Doc) for a replacement?

There is a guy that repairs Japanese Nambu pins, I assume he could repair that type. I can check later, but you could go to the Banzai Japanese forum on main gunboards.com and ask the question there.

Tom doesn't have any for the 1900 Any other suggestions any one I know Im not the only person to have this problem.

I pulled the firing pins out of my S/42 P08 and my 1900 AE to compare them...A quick and dirty examination leads me to believe that a P08 firing pin could be reconfigured to work in a 1900...

I'd have to get a P08 firing pin and file/machine it to 1900 profile, but since I want a spare anyway, I'll see what Numrich/Sarco have and put one in my next order...

Please post a photo of your damaged firing pin so I will know what type of repair to recommend or who to send it to.

Years ago, when I had an abundant supply of postwar Mauser Parabellum FPs, I had several altered to fit the M1900 luger. As I recall, this consisted of turning down the forward portion, so that the tip could extend further forward, cutting back the angled portion of the lug for the same reason and milling a flat from front to back, so that they could clear the arm of the mid toggle link. I'd consider altering some more of my $50 standard FPs, if the market for M1900 repros is now up to $100. TH

I didn't pay attention to this post until now. Difficult to tell but based on your photo you may have two P-08 firing pins. The M1900 pin has a very different profile (see photo). A P-08 FP will fit in a 1900 Luger and it will go "click" when you pull the trigger but not "bang." Both pins appear intact. Does your M1900 pin project from the breech block? If not it may be the wrong FP.

That P08 firing pin does not go into my 1900 AE breech block. The tail is too thick.

Both pins protrude from their breech faces.

I see what you mean about the profile being different (on yours). Mine is a later 1900 AE (serial 13246). Is your 1900 an early one???

This would be so much easier if we could swap out firing pins face to face, however, I am unclear on the situation: Your initial post stated that you wanted the FP tip repaired but judging from your photo the tip appears intact. You also stated that the FP does protrude from the breech block, suggesting again that the tip is intact. How far does the tip protrude? Have you test fired a primed case? Is there damage to the FP tip that is not evident in the photo? As a reference my 1900 FP projects about .050" from breech block.
