OT-Cool Markings I thought
![]() But the folks on the P.38 forum didn't seem interested in them. It is really cool I thought that the Germans stamped a small (and hidden to the naked eye) number within the Eagle proof mark. This was on the post war P.38 I just got. I think the post war guns turn them off, but I like all P.38s and thought this was really intriguing! ~Thor~

Re: OT-Cool Markings I thought
That is neat! I have seen a lot of eagles in the various books I have but nothing like that! Perhaps a new war-time code?

Re: OT-Cool Markings I thought
I recently picked up a post WW2 military accepted commerically numbered P38 with a 1959 acceptance date. Has anyone seen any earlier dates? Perhaps Orv can tell us when Walther started making the P38s postwar. Thanks, Tom h
