I HATE Maryland's stupid gun laws!
I'm now on day 13 of waiting for my paperwork to come back from the MD state police so I can have my 1911.45, its SUPPOSED to be a 7 day wait! If it doesn't come back by tomorrow which will be exactly double the it should be I think I'm just going to get my money refunded. I don't get what the hold up is its not like this is the first gun I've ever bought, hell the gun shop says there's no way for them to even call the state police to find out what the hold up is!
Should I just go get my money back or should I wait guys what do you think? Buying this .45 is what made my deal for a Luger frame fall threw because here in Maryland you can only purchase 1 regulated firearm a month unless you have a collectors license, of which I have also applied for along with my C&R and nothing on them either. Tho they were quick to cash my check. |
Well it may be just as long a wait the next time also so might as well stick it out to find out how long you will have to wait in the future.
|
I agree with Gary, its been this long, you get your money refunded and the next day -----WHAM ----- they would call and say the paperwork went through...

One could always move to a free state. If such is feasible.
Besides the wait, I understand that MD also has some other unusual rules regarding firearms and ammo. . |
Yeah I'm gonna drive up there and find out whats going on in person this is ridiculous now. I posted on Maryland shooters website and have been told some member have waited 21 days to have the gun released to them. 21 days is CRAZY!

It took me a couple hours to buy a new Beretta M9 at Cabela's last week in Missouri. They were busy, had to wait in line. I was sort of ticked off it took so long.
Sorry Terry Tiell, but that two hours seemed like forever.:D |
They are probably in the same pickle as the rest of state govts around the country.
Too much work and less peeps to do it with due to budget cutbacks. Even here in NYS the only wait I have is going down to the Sheriffs office during the work week to get it on my permit before I can pick it up. Yea it's a pain but beats a waiting period and there is no limit on how many bangs you can buy per month. |
Now I'm told weekends don't count. I bought it Friday before last, but they said it was too late for the paperwork to be submitted that day (since when is NOON too early?) then the weekend that doesn't count. Day 1 was last Monday so day 5 was last Friday, then the weekend doesn't count. Monday was day 6 today is day 7 so I can have it tomorrow on day #8.
Tho I have a buddy who said no its 7 days PERIOD not 7 business days I just bought it from the wrong place. |

Consider yourself lucky. It can take up to 6 weeks to get paperwork done here. And then they have to prepare it on the other side of the border (long live the 'open borders' EU). I bought a P.08 from Hermann Historica in April. Still waiting for delivery.

Terry,
Don't ever, ever get into the NFA World. The waits there would be unbearable. |

Move down to Florida. Only 5 days max!No waiting if you have a Florida Concealed Weapons Permit!
|
Called them back and the paperwork must have been missed in the fax machine, they have it now. But somehow even though I paid cash for it and my receipt shows I bought it on the 10th the paperwork is dated the 14th so I can't have it till tomorrow. Talk about a pain in the ass! I'm never gonna buy a gun from them ever again!
