Grip Screws

I have a 1916 DWM. One of my grip screws is dark and am assuming it is blued the other looks as if it is brass. What is correct for this luger. Couldn't find anything on screws. Thanks

No Luger screw was ever brass. Both should be blued steel. Tom Heller, (Luger Doc) should have a replacement screw for you.

Thanks. That's what I figured but wanted to make sure. I will contact Tom. How do you tell an original from a reproduction. I read that Erfurt were marked but DWM weren't.

Cavman, I just send you a PM re the grip screws. The repros will be more the Mauser style, flatter than the DWMs and hot dip blued. The orig finish of the DWM screw was a fire blue, like most of the flat spring on the pistol. Erfurt discontinued inspector marking their grip screws, sometime in 1916. TH
