Weimar Holster

4 Attachment(s)
Interesting Weimar holster. Post WWI type hinge and mag pouch without the stitch across the back. Norwegian converted, then back to belt loops. Originally had provision for rod under lid. C. Pose AG - Berlin 1926 (possibly 25). Hard to read the last number. Either a 5 or 6. C/WaA 18. When did Waffenampt marking begin? I have seen at least 3 different manufactured 1925/26 Army holsters with WaA 18. Have not seen many Weimar newmade Army holsters.

Bill..Great holster! I agree..1920 something? 23? Really hard to tell even blown up. Try to sprinkle a little baking soda on the date and tap on the underside or hold an electric shaver under it..vibrate it a little and perhaps the outline will present itself?

Anyway..good to see.

I have only seen 1926' especially with this maker. Three makers of 1926 holsters is what Jim told me, he had one of each.

I believe these were made for Simsons, but of course, could be for any Luger in service.

The ones I have seen and the two or three I have, all have the later cleaning rod pouch, which was put in later, and only for a few years.

Weimar era, I have seen 1926' then they skip to 1929 and up, I have never seen 1925' 1927 or 1928 holsters.

Bill,

WaA18 is found on different holster makers of various periods. My thought would be that these were possibly unissued holsters already in inventory, which were inspected and passed ( waffenamt applied ) in the mid to late 30's judging from the style of the Eagle. The date on your C. Pose holster looks like "1933"

C. Pose, Berlin, 1926

A. Wunderlich, Berlin 1927

G. Reinhardt, Berlin 1922 and 1937

Adalbert Fischer, Berlin (no date)

The third number is definately a 2. The last I believe is a 6. Looking at the picture it does look like a 3 . However when in hand it doesn't. Again the problem with pictures vs in hand. Bill

Just spent an hour looking at the date. Tried the baby powder bit and more magnification. Lo and behold it definately is a 5. Bill

Bill,

So, it's 1925?

Yes it does. Thanks for reminding me of the powder bit. Us old men forget rapidly. Bill

First 1925 I have seen, very cool. I would think that with so many leather makers, and assorted states, that many contracts were let out?
