Browning 1922 Question.
To convert a .380 Browning 1922 to .32, do you just need a barrel and magazine? Or do you need a slide barrel and magazine and spring? Or say changing a .32 to .380? there is a parts conversion kit on gunbroker but it does not say what the parts are? The slide surely must have to be different....

Not necessarily. The difference in power between the two rounds is not that great and a single slide could very easely operate with both calibers. I would guess that a stiffer or weaker slide spring would be the difference, not the slide itself.

I've read that the Colt 1903 Pocket Automatic could be converted by chamging only the mag & barrel, but I don't think I've ever read that the Browning 1910 or 1922 could...
Neither POTW or the NRA Disassembly guide mention it...Although they do mention that the Colt could... Can you post the GB link??? ETA: I don't see a 'conversion' on GB as such, but there do seem to be both 32 & 380 Model 1922's for sale, so it could very well be possible... |
