9mm early style reciever

A few posts back I questioned about my 7.65mm early Luger(Parabellum) and its early reciever without the radius on the chamber area.

Were there ever any 9mm guns without the milled chamber area? My 9mm Parabellum is #1515, I suppose #515 of the first thousand. It HAS the milled chamber area.

I have not been able to see any other 9mm's with a lower number. I am therefore supposing that all 9mms had the radiused chamber area?.............................................

Early 9mm Parabellums

Based only on observations, I think all 9mm MAUSER Parabellums excluding prototypes, have the traditional bevel cut on the receiver ring. Watch for early 9mm pistols with the .30 caliber (Swiss) front sight which is "notched." The change over to the traditional 9mm style front sight happened after serial 11.00.1422 (pistol number 422). Yes, there are two dots on the receiver serial but one on the frame serial.

The first batch of Mauser Parabellums consisted of .30 luger pistols, so that is probably the reason why only the .30 luger version shows the straight chamber.
