I have been all over the world, was stationed in the Netherlands for 7 years, the dutch I met, the Belgium's, the Germans and the Luxembourg's, were all fair, and those that had been 'freed' by the USA in WW2 were still friendly and grateful.

The American Cemetery in Margraten, the Netherlands has EVERY grave adopted by a dutch family, some by several families.

I love America, but Europeans are cool too :)
