Something is not right..??...

Hey Guys...you haven't failed me yet....do me a favor and go on SIMPSONS LTD site and take a look at Luger # D-164.....The top of the toggle where it goes into the barrel.....I don't like the looks of those big "gaps: that I see there....doesnt look right nor does it look safe....anyway....Your opinions as always are valued and appreciated...Regards..Hans Fischer

While the front of the bolt looks like it has a large gap, (and it does look a little battered) where it meets the chamber, often refinishers buff this area and round of the edges of the bolt top, giving the impression that there is a large gap, when in reality the edgers angle down to the actual bolt face and provide an adequate gap for firing. Remember that this pistol headspaces on the case rim so a reasonable gap at the bolt face is not dangerous.

ALL "strawed" parts have been blued. Could be a DEAL @ $1k for a "shooter" with mags, holster, orig barrel etc... . it is Simpsons after all.

YMMV

"The new replacement barrel"

The head spacing might be off a little

calibrator,

Is Simpson's a dealer that one should exercise great caution with?

Simpson is expensive, but reputable. David

Simpsons

This past week....I received my 1941 BYF from Simpsons....and I have to say their Customer Service is Really Good.....I talked to a Salesman named Floyd...Very Courteous and Helpful.....actually I picked up the 1918 DWM on monday...(its the one with no proofs on the right side)..and then wednesday picked up the 1941 BYF....and they shipped both pistols the same day I paid for them..!!...no delay at all...Im quite Satisfied with both pistols.....have been wanting a 1941 BYF for many years.......and a 1918 DWM to replace the one I "lost" while in Germany......just wish there was someway to get the History on the 1918 DWM as I've never seen a Pistol with the wear on the grips this one has.....very fascinating......its one of my favorites now.......and as always....I appreciate you guys giving me some good information and advice...Great Forum.....Regards...Hans Fischer

I just ordered a brown 1937 Luger holster from Floyd. He was actually concerned about the cost of shipping and said he would try to keep the price down. I appreciated that.

I just purchased from Simpson's and am very happy with the Colt 1911! You can call and talk to them about the gun if you have questions.
