My wife and I used to create digital art for local Alternative Art venues here in Phx. Up until a few years ago, we would submit entries to 6-8 events yearly. I created these for a show themed "Gun Show, No I.D. Required" about 5 yrs ago. these were printed on 13 X 19 paper and matted to fit an 18 X 24 frame. I gave the "Arty's" version to my friend G.T. :jumper: when he visited my home a few years ago. Thought you might get a laugh if I posted them here.

Thanks for ALL the kind critique. I only printed 1 of each. The only one left is the "Baby Luger" hanging above my bar. Phoenix is a tough art market. Of the dozens of shows I've entered, I can count my sales on my fingers (and a few toes). The main reason we quit was we were spending $$$ printing, mounting and matting (rotated the frames) each time we re-visited the same venue (they would only accept fresh work). The "Alternative" venues we frequented seemed to be patronized more by lookers than buyers.

I DO have these on a CD, saved in a High Quality TIFF format sized at 13X19. Alas, my Canon i9900 printer has not survived so well. If members here were interested in copies and were willing to give some suggestions as to quality of print (archival ink on photo quality paper, or just poster grade material etc...) and possible number of prints involved, I would look into having a 3rd party do the printing.

After my 2nd cup of coffee, I would consider selling the CD to an interested entrepreneur that would include exclusive rights to the images;).

I'll post some of my Aviation art in the future for your enjoyment, if that is alright?

I sure would like to have one for my man cave. What would it matter if it was the same as was in another's gun lounge??

You should get them printed on metal signs and sell them they're that good. I'd buy a couple of em.

Lon, Yeah I thought the same thing untill I needed $25,000 to start it up...The trouble with metal signs is minimum quantities. On something like cars or motorcycles or whatever els they use to achieve high sales..Luger Tavern signs are only appealing to one tenth of one percent of the general populace. I don't necessarily want to lose my butt in the sign business..the stock market is doing that for me.
So I put together the only reasonable alternative I could think of to decorate my leather shop and provide a few art pieces to other Luger fans without getting crazy.

But..if there is some enterprising entrepaneur out there with deep pockets who wants to make these in metal..give me a call!

Wow, an initial outlay of $25,000. with no guarantee of return on investment could make things a little uncomfortable around the old homestead, probably not a good idea. :thumbup:
