For a couple of years now I've been trying to convince my Father-in-law who is a Master woodworker with decades of experience to start making these stands and other type of display boxes for Lugers and other pistols.

Here is one of GT's magazine insert stands that I have put on one of my bases to display my Ideal shoulder stock rig.

There is link to Luger stands on his website.

Nothing personal GT; just don't like to be corrected when I am right.

It wasn't Gerry; it was me...And now you've posted the correct link... ;)

Perhaps it's churlish of me, but I am on a dial-up and hoard my online time...I like direct links, and try to post direct links myself...

Same link, just a sub catagory.

I know its easy to ask the question on the forum, but using the search on the forum shows many previous postings. I tried wooden stands and wood display and many questions came up from recent postings by others. A google search, or a search on gunbroker or ebay will come up with scores of results

But the Search Function doesn't bring warm and often humorous replies, and doesn't give you a sense of fellowship with like minded collectors...or accumulators...

Doing a Search is just so...impersonal... :p

I could do them for $15.00 apiece plus shipping for orders of 5 or more. domestic hardwoods that I have on hand in the shorts pile. PM works but I am sometimes slow to notice that I have a message.

Gents,
I think it is necessary to distinguish between "cheap" and "inexpensive". "Cheap" infers low cost and shoddy workmanship. Of the links I have viewed here, the stands appear well made and inexpensive. They certainly provide a nice presentation of your favorite Luger and they represent good value for the money. I think you would do well with any of them.

If you want to go with the Rolls Royce (more prestigious than Cadillac!) version you might consider GT's stand and affix it to your own base as I have done. It does what the others do but with that "class" that can only be obtained from a lot of effort, skill and fine materials. It costs quite a bit more but is really the only way to go for a rare and pristine Luger. And, no, I do not receive any commission for my recommendation...G.T. is my friend but not a business partner.
